Auckland Queen Street trolley bus, 1960s

And the main street of NZ's main city - Queen Street.  Flanked by an American AMC Rambler and a English Ford Zephyr, trolley bus No. 100, the first of the last series of 34 imported from the 'Mother Country' between 1957 and 1959, is seen at the intersection with Wellesley Street.  The distinguishing features of trolley buses used on Queen Street were the centre-band in red with gold lettering stating "Queen Street - Karangahake Road" and the trolley poles painted in cream and green stripes.  The mini-tower at left with "Theatre Centre" on it is still there.
