The double LP by the English group Traffic from 1973, On the Road, featured this artwork showing an empty motorway. That year saw actual scenes like that as petrol stations ran out of fuel during the first oil shock, however, that may or may not have been an influence for the artist.
The LP was recorded live in Germany and contained only 6 tracks, being lengthy versions of tracks on their recent jazzy 'prog-rock' studio LPs.
