a gallop to the Grande Chartreuse

A poster for the PLM railway of France although this only features a stage coach apparently at full gallop along the road to the Grande Chartreuse, another galloping horseman further back and a couple of cyclists.

La Grande Chartreuse is the head monastery of the Carthusian order, located in the Chartreuse Mountains, north of the city of Grenoble. The poster seems to be based on the postcard view below; another scene from this road in an old album also included. (Bibliotheque Dauphinoise)
