A little curious this one. The date of 21 May 1858 presumably commemorates something in South African railway history, but not the opening of the first railway which was a line about 2 miles (3.2 km) long by the Natal Railway Company, linking the town of Durban with Harbour Point, opened on 26 June 1860. The locomotive on the stamp is a Soviet one.
