Southern Railway (England) poster, 1931

The Southern Railway steam locomotive 862, officially 'Lord Collingwood', was a member of the 'Lord Nelson' class, 4-6-0 4-cylinder express passenger steam locomotives designed by Richard Maunsell in 1926 for Continental boat trains and express passenger work. Only 16 locomotives were built for the Southern Railway and later continued in service with British Rail, and locomotive 862 was one of the locomotives used at London Waterloo Station.

See the earlier post on the Bournemouth Belle train.
