Evidently the electric multiple unit has broken down. The diesel-electric is a Co-Co type from 1971 with a 2000 hp prime mover of which 22 were built, 6 for standard gauge and 16 for meter-gauge. This is the electrified, metre-gauge Sahel Metro line serving Sousse to the north and as can be seen here sits among lagoons used for the extraction of salt.
