an F at Hokitika, 1900s


One of the ubiquitous F class 0-6-0ST's with a goods train attached.  Horses with carts are in the yard, but no motor vehicles are visible.  The 38.5 km branch line from Greymouth to here was opened in 1893 and it still exists, although these buildings are history.
