Victorian Railways Walker Rail Motor


"The Yarra Valley Railway operates a section of the former Victorian Railways Healesville branch line between Healesville and the tunnel near Tarawarra.

"Gangers trolleys have operated the services for a number of years, but the volunteers of the YVR have recently restored 153hp Walker railmotor 22RM and are working on improving the standard of track. Saturday 17 July 2010 was the official return to regular tourist train services on the line.

"This video features 22RM operating the Sunday operations on 18 July, with a special commemorative headboard celebrating the re-introduction of regular services."

A total 16 of the 153 hp version (there were also 102 and 280 hp versions) were built between 1948 and 1955.  More info here
