An early publicity photo of this car on the Dj-hauled Christchurch to Invercargill train introduced at the end of 1970. This is another photo considered for, but not used in the book New Zealand Railway Memorabilia as it shows the new style crockery designed for the train and NZR generally at the time to replace the traditional thick and chunky designs.
And having mentioned it, here is a pic of the said train. For lots more the book South Island Main Trunk (out of print) is a good one to try and find.
