the former station of Bordeaux-Bastide, France

This was built over 1851-1853 and put into service on the railway Angoulême - Bordeaux. It was the terminus of the line Paris - Orléans - Bordeaux and sited to avoid a bridge on the Garonne.  The building ceased being used for railway purposes circa 1950. (Geoff Churchman pic)
