Jaguar SS1 and XJ6

The SS1 sports car was first built by the Swallow Sidecar Company in Coventry, England in 1931 and produced commercially between 1932 and 1936. In 1933 they renamed themselves SS Cars Ltd and in 1945 to Jaguar Cars Ltd, no doubt because that year SS acquired unfavourable associations. (SS-1 was also the number plate of Heinrich Himmler's car.)

This First Day Cover was issued in 1983.
