recent fad of portrait photos on railway tracks causes concern

Taking pictures of trains in a safe position away from the track is one thing, taking portrait pictures of people on the track - particularly on bridges and inside tunnels - is another.  There is little evidence of it here, but in the USA and in Russia it has become a fad in the last few years, and the railway companies are very concerned about the safety hazard it creates.

Before jumping in and prosecuting photographers who engage in this practice with trespass, Union Pacific Railroad has launched an education campaign to persuade them to go elsewhere.

The young lass in the photos does not look entirely happy sitting on cold steel-or perhaps hot by afternoon. Perhaps a good move for Rail companies would be allow such photos say on trains as guards, drivers , station masters,in a selling attire , it may have an effect for more calendar sales etc from Rail people as well as fashion folk.
