Locomotive DC 4300 in its then TranzRail livery arrives at Upper Hutt from the Wairarapa with a mixed consist train, including logs, in March 2001.

More dedicated logging trains by KiwiRail from the Wairarapa to Port of Wellington have just been announced, to avoid logs being trucked over the Rimutaka Hill road. Common sense does prevail sometimes. (Wallace Trickett)
