Union Airways of NZ's original flying staff at Palmerston North's Milson Airport 15 January 1936, the day before commerrcial services began with a de Havilland D.86 plane, ZK-AEG Karoro (Black-backed Gull), which had been the first plane to be assembled after unshipping at Lyttelton and test flown on 8 December 1935. It also completed the first commercial flight from Palmertson North's Milson to Dunedin on 16 January 1936.
