Colmar station, France

One of our photos, taken in 2012. It has been known as Colmar-Central to distinguish it from other stations in the city. The large window (matched by one on the other side) gives the impression of a tunnel portal, whether by intention or effect.

The first Colmar station was inaugurated in 1840 by the Compagnie du chemin de fer de Strasbourg à Bâle. The present station dates from 1907 from the 1871-1919 era when Alsace was under German administration.
