TV program on the Hyde rail disaster of 4 June 1943

Those who do the Otago Central Rail Trail will see a monument near Hyde to the 21 who were killed in this train wreck which happened when a Dunedin-bound passenger train went too fast and detailed in a shallow cut.

An episode in the TV One "Descent from Disaster" series examines this accident, and quite well, too --
