Perpignan trams, France

An edifice on the Avenue de la Gare, later removed

This city in French Catalonia had a metre gauge 4-line system from 1900 to 1955. The longest was a 13 km line to the beach at Canet-en-Roussillon which closed in 1954. There was also a short-lived interurban from Le Vernet to Rivesaltes opened in 1909 and closed in 1935.

Matériel consisted of 19 powered cars on axles supplied in 1900 and 5 powered cars on bogies in 1920. These were supplemented with a similar number of trailers on axles.
