Polish class EN57 electric multiple unit

Unit 807 at Pyskowice en route to Opole.
Production of these three-car sets started in 1962 and ended in 1993 with no less than 1,412 produced (by Pafawag in Breslau), most of which are still in operation. This class must have had the world's longest production period for electric multiple units.

The first ones had first and second class compartments, but sets numbered 602 and upwards were produced with only second class. There were also other detail differences over the 31 years. Units up to number 1113 have corrugated sides and three windshields, units numbered 1114 to 1825 have flat sides and three windshields, while units from number 1900 to 1953 have flat sides and two windshields, resembling class EW58 units.
