estimated to be food insecure. Nominal GDP per capita in the country is about $US 2 a day. But the President of Zimbabwe has no qualms about spending $US 1 million each year on his birthday party; last year he was presented with a cake said to have weighed 89 kg. The party for his 90th birthday was held on the weekend.
