This preserved 2-6-2 loco from 1935 operates over a 29.7-km line built during the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945); the line was used for transporting materials needed for building the power plant at Sun Moon Lake. Commencing at Ershuei Station in Changhua County, the line passes through seven tunnels before terminating at Checheng Station in Nantou County.
