Fans of the English Electric sets from the late 1940s/early 50s have only a few days left to see one in action on the Wellington to Johnsonville Line, which of course was the first line to see them in 1938. Soon it will be all Matangi sets. Here a 4-car set descends through Wadestown above tunnel no. 5 last month. (Daniel Garland)
