Chatham Railway Station, England, 1906

A station on the London, Chatham and Dover Railway (LCDR) in south-eastern England. The LCDR lasted from 1859 until the 1923 grouping which merged it with other railways to form the Southern Railway. Chatham is quite close to Gillingham (see earlier post and the post for London Victoria).

The LC&DR ceased to operate independently in 1899, from which date to the grouping it was run with the South Eastern Railway by a joint management committee as the South Eastern & Chatham Railway.
