the railway viaducts of Morez, France

As can be seen in the pics, an impressive trajectory was involved with the railway connection Andelot-en-Montagne - La Cluse, on the "ligne des hirondelles" (line of the swallows) in the northern reaches of the Jura mountains, not far from Switzerland.  The section between Champagnole and Morez was inaugurated in 1900. Between Morbier and Morez, five viaducts were necessary.

The section of line between Morez and Saint-Claude is the most recent, inaugurated in 1912, and contains the notable Grand Viaduc de Morez, which has been registered as a monument historique since 1984.

The viaducts' architect was Paul Séjourné (1851 -1939) an engineer of the P.L.M.
