Lago Maggiore is a large lake shared between Switzerland and Italy, although the Simplon route railway line skirts the shore of the Italian part only. This poster, probably issued not long after the Simplon tunnel was opened (see earlier posts), depicts a train running from Paris to Milan on this route.
