"HQ Holdens and LJ Toranas on the production line in August 1973 at the Holden Acacia Ridge assembly plant in Brisbane, Australia. Plans were set up for the Brisbane plant in July 1964 to start construction of the $20 million Acacia Ridge plant. On 19 January 1965, assembly operations started at Acacia Ridge with the limited assembly of HD Holdens. The Holden Torana was released to the Australian press at Acacia Ridge in September 1967, and production of the Gemini started in 1975. The plant employed up to 1500 workers, and was then to close with the final vehicles coming off the production line at the end of October 1984." (Remembering the Australian car industry)
