1954 Leyland PSU1/11 bus


A painting by British transport artist David Briggs showing a 1954 Burlingham bodied PSU1/11 which was new to Cassidy of Eniskellen in March of that year.

"The 1950s and 1960s constituted prosperous times for the bus industry. Coach tours and coach trips to the coast were a staple for many living in the cities and the tradition of the wakes week which developed into a secular holiday, particularly in North West England saw huge numbers of coaches taking workers off to places like Blackpool and Scarborough."
