NZ government rules out any increase in the quota for "refugees"

New Zealand Prime Minister John Key says the country's annual "refugee" quota will stay at 750 a year, despite Opposition calls for more to be accepted.

According to Radio New Zealand, the government will take the 100 Syrian refugees it promised to take 18 months ago, even though only 83 have been settled so far.
Immigration New Zealand refugee division national manager Andrew Lockhart said the remaining 17 would be coming in the next financial year.

One hopes that all the Muslims that NZ lets in are given rigorous scrutiny as to the likelihood that they will earn their own keep and will behave themselves, unlike Muslim migrants in Australia (see earlier posts)
