The Southern Pacific's Coast Daylight passenger train from Los Angeles to San Francisco was hauled by ALCo PA units regularly from 1953 to 1955 and completely from 1955 to 1968. Here an A-B-A lash-up is seen with the train in the mountains north of LA. See earlier posts.
