South Lake Union Train, Seattle, Washington

Just before the Downtown terminus at the Westlake Center
The end of line on North Fairview
This 1.3 mile (2.1 km) streetcar line runs on an L-shaped route from Lake Union to downtown Seattle on standard gauge track at 750 Volts from overhead.  As the acronym spelled SLUT, understandably it was quickly changed from a Train to a Streetcar (trolley or tram would likewise be no good) when it commenced in December 2007, although locals still call it the Slut :-)

Although it doesn't go very far, businesses in the area are supportive of it, these include Amazon.com - article in the Seattle Times An extension at Lake Union is planned. (Geoff Churchman pics)
