Duisburg, Germany - the world's largest inland harbor

Duisburg, a city with a present population of a bit under half a million, situated at the confluence of the Ruhr and Rhein rivers, has a large harbor complex for barge traffic and service tugs.  Needless to say, the city and its wharves were a prime target for Allied bombings during WW2.
