The Los
Angeles Transit Lines trolleybus network was inaugurated on 3 August 1947;
40 ACF-Brill model TC44 trolleybuses had been delivered in 1945 and 1946.
In 1948 and 1950 two more lines were opened and additional 40 model TC44
and 30 model T-46 vehicles were acquired from ACF-Brill.
The last
trolleybus routes in Los Angeles were converted to bus operation on 31
March 1963 and in 1969 all Los Angeles trolleybuses were sold to Mexico
City for further service; only one model TC44 was preserved at the Orange
Empire Railway Museum.
