railway bridge on Danish banknote

The Danish 100 Kroner (~ $US 18) note in the banknote series issued in 2009 features the Gamle Lillebæltsbro or Old Little Belt Bridge between the Jutland peninsular and island of Funen.  It is 1.178 km long, 21 metres wide, and was opened on 14 May 1935 after 6 years of construction.

It was originally designed for both road and rail traffic, but in 1970 road traffic switched to Den nye Lillebæltsbro or the New Little Belt Bridge.

A 24-minute period film (in German) on the building of the old bridge is here.
