Bournemouth trams

Having mentioned Bournemouth trains and trolleybuses, we should mention what preceded the trolleybuses, namely the trams.  The tram system lasted from from 23 July 1902 until 8 April 1936 and reached a route length of 16.1 miles (25.9 km) in 3'6" (1067 mm) gauge. These views would date from the first few years of the system, which extended to the suburb of Winton to the north and to the adjacent towns of Poole to the west and Christchurch to the east.  The fleet consisted of 151 double-deck cars and 1 single-decker.
