Greyhound "Silversides" bus on Key West bridge, Florida, circa 1948

A PD-4151 "Silversides" bus built for Greyhound Lines by GM/Yellow Coach in 1948 is seen on the seven mile (11.3 km) bridge between Miami and Key West.  A new bridge was constructed from 1978 to 1982. Most of the original bridge still exists, used as fishing piers and access to Pigeon Key, but the swing span over the Moser Channel of the Intracoastal Waterway has been removed. The modern bridge has an arch over this channel.
