These were an articuled type built in two batches, 1925 and 1929, for the iron ore railway that runs from Kiruna in Sweden to Narvik in Norway. Ten of each half of the (1′C)+(C1′) type were built (thus 5 doubled locos sets) for the 15 kV 16.7 Hz overhead catenary fed system. All were withdrawn in 1967 and none were preserved.
No "possible" about it: That IS a picture taken in WW2 and the uniforms ARE German.
ReplyDeleteA couple of those German soldiers belong to the SS. I have no idea why one of the soldiers is wearing a cloth/bag over his head.
