Chicago Aurora & Elgin Railroad interurban car from 1909

This interurban car, numbered 315, was built in 1909 by the G.C. Kuhlman Car Co. of Cleveland, OH, a subsidiary of the J.G. Brill Co., for the Aurora Elgin & Chicago Railroad which was later known as the Chicago Aurora & Elgin Railroad. 

Capable of speeds up to 80 mph (128 km/h), car 315 was built with stained glass windows, inlaid mahogany woodwork, brass baggage racks, a smoking compartment, and comfortable leather seats which seated 52 passengers. It was was equipped with Baldwin 8435 trucks and four GE 66B traction motors and GE C21 controllers.

It is now in the Rockhill Trolley Museum in Pennsylvania.  Info
