This Leyland Comet 375 of Tranzit Group was built at New Zealand Motor Bodies in 1967, with a six-speed gearbox and an Eaton two-speed. It is considered New Zealand's first air conditioned coach and was still in service in 1998 when this Wallace Trickett photo was taken, although only weeks away from sale. It was a hard vehicle to drive with no power steering as built and close gate on the shift. It has been spotted as a mobile home on several occasions since and appears in the transpress nz book
Wellington's Transport Memories in the original livery of Blue Bus Services, a photo taken in 1980 by the same photographer. The company rebranded itself as Tranzit in 1985.
