steamer 'Cabrillo' in San Pedro, California, 1900s

Obviously named after Juan Cabrillo, this wooden steamship, with a capacity of 1,200 passengers, took tourists across California's San Pedro Channel to Santa Catalina Island from 1904 until the entry of America in WW2 when the ship was taken to San Francisco for troop transport in the Bay area.  In 1947 the army brought Cabrillo to the Cuttings Wharf in Napa, California, and put her up for sale but there were no buyers and stripped of anything useful, she was left to rot away on the shores of the Napa River.
