Syria - all foreign powers should stay out of it

With Russia refusing to rule our further arms sales to the Assad regime and Britain, France and the US proposing to arm the rebels, the result, instead of peace would be a protracted bloodbath and a wasteland which will be of no benefit to anybody.

Despite evidence that Assad has used chemical weapons on his opponents, Israel is reported to be unenthusiastic about his demise on the basis that the devil you know is better than the devil you don't.

Whatever differences the people involved have, peace should be achievable through negotiations - the unconditional surrender expectation on both sides is not realistic.
