It was probably commissioned for the company that produced the postcard so technically the copyright would vest with them - if the company still exists. Like most of the pics on here we don't have the postcard anymore so don't know who published it, all we still have is the scan on this blog for educational and conservation purposes. We think you'd be safe provided you state it's a postcard but if still worried you may be able to find another copy for sale in an antiques or secondhand bookstore or an auction website.
I am interested in using this photograph in a publication. Is it copyrighted? If so, who owns the copyright?
