A town in Lorraine, close to the border with Germany, known for a large fortress, visible in the trackside views above. In German the spelling is Bitsch. For English speakers the name will have a certain amusement.
Unfortunatly the line closed in the 90's on Niderbronn (Hagenau) side on economic ground and less than two years ago (due to bad track conditions) on Sarguemines side replaced by a "provisional" bus service.
