Great Northern Railway USA timetable brochure cover, 1951

With an F7 diesel-electric locomotive graphic. This mentions the Western Star and the Empire Builder passenger trains -- the former ran between Chicago and the Pacific Northwest via Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota between 1951 and 1971. The Empire Builder was introduced in 1929 and ran (and still runs) between Chicago and either Seattle or Portland via two sections west of Spokane.
