a pair of NZR Ka class 4-8-4's at the Paekakariki engine shed in steam days


The steam era ended on NZR in the North Island in 1967 but this precinct is a home now to the Steam Inc. heritage operation and there are regular steam hauled excursions around the lower North Island lines from there.
