"S S Gothic - Berthing in the King George Dock Hull"
This postwar Shaw, Savill & Albion Co Ltd cargo/passenger steamship was 15,902 grt and built in 1947; she was used for Queen Elizabeth II's coronation world tour in 1954. The ship lasted 22 years before she was Taken to Kaohsiung on 13 August 1969 for breaking by China Steel Corporation.
This is a watercolor painting by Colin Verity (1924-2011) an Architect and watercolourist, noted for marine pictures, born in Darwen, Lancashire, England.
