vessels in Famagusta, Cyprus, pre-1974

1974 was the year Turkey invaded Cyprus and took control of about half the island. Famagusta was until then the main holiday destination for tourists, but after the Turks took control, the mainly Greek Cypriot inhabitants abandoned most of it and Famagusta became the largest ghost town in Europe, a status it still has.
