Northern Pacific GP-9 heads a freight train through Vancouver, Washington, 1970

The existance of a Vancouver in Washington has undoubtedly caused confusion for train passengers with the well-known one in British Columbia, Canada, throughout the years.

Northern Pacific was one of the predecessor constituents of today's BNSF. The railroad had 176 GP-9's in its roster.
