a CA-6 Wackett trainer of Qantas and a BOAC 'Speedbird' at Mascot airport, Sydney, 1948

"The CAC Wackett trainer was the first aircraft type designed in-house by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation of Australia. The name was derived from its designer Lawrence Wackett."

The BOAC aircraft in the left background is an Avro 691 Lancastrian C.1 developed from the Avro Lancaster heavy bomber, one of 23 of this variant of the Lancastrian, and was a nine-seat transport aircraft built for BOAC and Qantas.
