Refrigerated cargo ship 'Port Sydney'

That sky color may not be real but it looks nice. :-)

In seafarer parlance these ships were usually called 'reefers'. This one was completed for the Port Line in 1955 by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson at Wallsend.

In 1975 the ship was converted to a cruise liner of 15,833 grt. She lasted until broken up in 2014.

Original specifications:

Tonnage: 10,166 grt
Length: 532.9 ft (162 metres)
Beam: 70.3 ft (2 metres)
Engines: 2 oil engines, Doxford type, 2SCSA, 6 cylinder (670 x 2320 mm), 13,200 bhp
Propulsion: 2 screws
