the world's most extensive miniature railway system

A pair of Southern Pacific GE C44-9W's arrive at the station with a passenger train -- sort of.  This is the 7.5" gauge Train Mountain Railroad near Chiloquin, Oregon, which together with the adjoining Klamath & Western, has a total of 60 km (36 miles) of track in this scale.

This weekend has seen the triannuals during which members from not just America, but other countries including Australia show up to partake in events and general train action.

Locomotives include live steamers and are based mostly on American prototypes, but we saw a few others including a Swiss crocodile.

It is an impressive layout with working signals and grade crossing bells/lights which takes around 3 hours to traverse in its entirety on a train.
