Fairchild C-119G Flying Boxcar twin-engine transport aircraft

"From 1953 onwards some 22 newly-built Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcars of the 'G' model were delivered to the Belgian Air Force. The G subtype of the Boxcar had somewhat more powerful engines and some aerodynamic refinements (including the boom fins). This batch was increased with 10 C-119F aircraft which had been upgraded to G standards. In 1960 six more former USAF Boxcars were delivered in replacement for those 'F' models returned to the USA. By 1975 all Flying Boxcars were withdrawn from use at Koksijde airbase and scrapped locally."
